Technology Director

Kriyus Technology Directors are very senior folks who have been around the block more than a few times. Technology Directors have deep technical knowledge in one or more software stacks. They take the lead on large, complex projects, working very closely with our clients, from pitch to planning to delivery. They will work closely with a broad range of agency disciplines including lead designers and creative directors, and hashing out technical issues with architects and engineers.

Our Technology Director will be part of the Kriyus global technology team and will represent local technology leadership – building and evolving our technology capabilities with other disciplines to create a seamless delivery capability to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients.

What we’d like to see:

  • A devotion to delivering the best possible user experience.
  • The ability to talk anyone through a complex package and/or custom software solution that you designed and implemented. Outlining the design principles and reasoning (pros and cons) and how this helped achieve business objectives.
  • A solid understanding of how to shape and estimate complex technology work in conjunction with the broader agency disciplines.
  • How you've built technology capabilities, defined the appropriate level of process and set standards within an agency or client environment.
  • Someone who passionately and persistently works on side projects, and commits to open source projects.
  • The ability to coach and transform diverse and talented technology people into high-performing individuals that work as effective self-directed teams.
  • Someone who is downright giddy to work with, learn from and mentor awesome engineers and designers every day.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field.

    Senior Web Engineer

    Web Engineers liaise between cross-functional teams to understand core presentation layer requirements and recommend and implement solutions that follow best practices. They’re the client-side engineers and lead initiatives on some of our largest client engagements. They serve as the main communication hub with the server-side team and are responsible for collaborating with them to identify integration points and dependencies. Web engineers have a strong appreciation for design and interaction, as well as an intimate understanding and appreciation for presentation layer code.

    Dedicated to translating comps and wireframes into semantically correct web templates, Web Engineers possess an excellent working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatibility (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.) for dynamic web applications. They love puzzles and problem solving, have a proven in-depth knowledge of popular JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Backbone, Angular, Closure, NodeJS, etc., and can articulate JavaScript design patterns.

    You will be able to work in a variety of client settings and platforms and collaborate in a smart environment where you can bring in your ideas. There is plenty of room to grow at Kriyus.

    What we’d like to see:

  • +5 years of client-side development experience, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Experience integrating HTML-based content with other 3rd party environments (i.e. Content Management Systems).
  • Experience with source control (SVN / GIT) and bug tracking systems as well as some of the following technologies: .NET, JAVA.
  • A solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and scalability.
  • Demonstrated ability with XHTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and JSON/XML.
  • Experience with content management systems and mobile application development a plus.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong time management and problem solving capabilities.

    Senior Interaction Designer

    Our Senior Interaction Designers are deeply committed to making sure the work we produce is useable, intuitive and intelligent. They develop information architecture for a variety of digital products, for a varied set of clients and varied kinds of media. Our Senior Interaction Designers don’t just have the experience and skill necessary to ensure a great product—they have the ability to lead those on their teams to create better, more forward-thinking work. We need someone ready to lead research and strategy, information architecture, and interaction design to create superb user experiences.

    Kriyus is also a highly collaborative environment, and we need someone who is excited to work as part of a team to create mind-blowing work. Senior Interaction Designers also effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and detailed design rationale both verbally and visually to our clients. They participate in user testing, build wireframes and functional prototypes, and more, keeping an eye on overall goals while getting their hands dirty at the same time.

    What we’d like to see:

  • A very strong background with at least 5+ years of user interface design experience. In addition, a strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology.
  • Experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions—must have an intermediate understanding of major web analytics packages and SEO strategies.
  • A sharp eye for detail and highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • An ability to collaborate. You should be excited to work other designers and developers to envision and iterate concepts.
  • An advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Visio.

    Production Designer

    Production Designers work with graphic designers, interaction designers, and the technology teams to create and implement world-class design solutions for our clients. They support the design team on web and mobile layouts, design conversions across multiple devices, and supplementary design requirements, like photo editing and preparing comps for presentations.

    Additionally, the Production Designer works with team leads to produce style guidelines defining a brand’s visual design identity. Their strong attention to detail and ability to liaise with various cross-functional teams helps them create the best design production based on individual project needs.

    What we’d like to see:

  • 2-4+ years working in a design production capacity in a digital agency environment.
  • Some experience working in a design production capacity in a digital agency environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Strong experience with image compression, file correction, and optimization techniques.
  • Must be highly organized, including clear external and internal file management.
  • Must be able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines.
